Asia

Glenbow Museum is fortunate to have received a significant collection of monumental religious sculptures from the Bumper Development Corporation Ltd. of Calgary, giving an excellent overview of Hindu and Buddhist art from India, Tibet, Nepal, Pakistan, Cambodia, Thailand, Korea, Japan, China, and Indonesia. With this gift we can reflect on the beauty and diversity of the artistic traditions of Asia, and learn about the people who continue to follow these traditions today. Glenbow also has ethnographic collections from Indonesia, Borneo, and other regions of South, Southeast, and East Asia.
