Lucas became secretary of the Alberta Branch of the Amateur Athletic Union of Canada in late
1961, replacing Frank Miles. He continued as secretary until 1967 when his wife, E.J. "Betty"
Lucas, took over. She served in this capacity from 1967 until the dissolution of the organization
in 1971. -- The series consists of alphabetically-arranged correspondence and subject files kept
by the Lucases during the years that they served as secretary of the organization. The
correspondence is primarily with the executive, chairs of committees, and member athletic clubs.
Included are applications for "sanction" to hold sporting events. The series consists of 10 sub-
