1899Hours of Brightness Calendar for 1899. -- Small calendar presented on four embossed cards containing three months each, attached by pale green ribbon. Features young children on either side of calendar with months printed on oriental lanterns. Intricate cut work on each panel.
1900 J. D. Candler and Company, Detroit, Michigan USA. -- Located at 177 and 179 High Street East. Both phones 512. Roofing. Repairing, Sheet Metal Work and Skylights. Features head and shoulder drawings of young women, by Frances Brundage on each page. Originally a six-page calendar with two months per page attached, but only months of March through December remain.
1901 (oversize) Patriotic Calendar. -- Features Queen Victoria in oval frame surrounded by Union Jack and the Red Ensign as well as coat of arms, Niagara Falls in round frame, and various illuminations. Entitled, "Rally Round the British Banner". Small calendar of month of January placed in the bottom right corner on front page. Oversized, seven-page calendar. Each page includes one or two months, as well as patriotic military scenes and verses. Cardboard calendar held together with grosgrain ribbon threaded through grommets.
1902 Words of Warning and Words of Grace Office. -- Small wallet calendar with twelve months on one side and scripture readings on reverse.
1902 (oversize)Hector J. Bryce, Cash Provision Warehouse. -- Located at 87 Hopewell Road, Glasgow, Scotland. Features Scottish poet, Robert Burns, posing with scroll in his left hand, and wearing brown tailcoat, gold and brown striped waistcoat, gold trousers with medal attached at the waist, and white shirt. Oversized, poster style calendar. Very small calendar, divided between the lower left and right corners.

Entitled, "Highland Pastures". Oversized, poster style calendar. Very small calendar, divided between the lower left and right corners. 1903

1904Frontier Stable, Livery, Sale and Feed, R. C. Thomas, Proprietor, Calgary, Alberta - Office located at Frontier Stables, Stephen Avenue. Lumber, Lath, Shingles, Windows, Doors, etc. Centre-fold card style. Features photograph of Frontier Stables building with men and horses in front. Inside is calendar as well as selection of Acme Sharps needles. Brown and black cotton thread through one needle. On right side and back are advertisements for R. C. Thomas.
1905 William Urquhart, Crossfield, Alberta. -- Seven calendars with various scenes, one entitled, "Sunset" with pastoral sunset scene, two entitled, "Apple Blossoms" with sheep and blossom trees, two entitled, "Autumn" with birch trees, one entitled, "Winter" with snow covered birch trees and one entitled, "Snowballing", with embossing encircling an oval picture of a young woman dressed in fur, holding a snow ball. No calendars attached. Circa 1905-1908
1905 (oversize) McCormick Harvesting Machines, Tillage and Seeding Implements. -- Works located at Hamilton, Ontario and Chicago, Illinois. Features a McCormick horse drawn harvester and farmer in wheat field in oval frame and the caption, "We Support the Nation". Surrounding the central figure in each corner are four figures with appropriate captions. They include: King Edward VII, "We Rule the Nation", Mounted soldier in regimental uniform, "We Combat for the Nation", robed minister with bible at the pulpit, "We Supplicate for the Nation", a barrister in court, "We Argue for the Nation". Oversized, cloth backed, wall calendar with metal strip and ring on top for hanging. Originally a twelve-month, tear away calendar attached at bottom, but only months of February through December remain.
1906 (oversize) The Christian Herald Bible House, New York, Established A.D. 1878, Louis Klopsch, Proprietor. -- Sponsor of calendar noted in very small and faint print in lower left corner. Features a bride and groom stepping from a carriage to awaiting family members at a southern American manor house. Entitled, "Home Coming of the Bride". Oversized wall calendar with metal strip and ring on top for hanging. Twelve-month calendar spread along bottom. Calendar badly torn on top and bottom.
1907 Banff Exshaw Rocky Mountains Park of Canada. -- Features full length photograph of Sampson Beaver, Trapper and Hunter. Advertisements for Banff Taxidermy Store and Furriers and Exshaw Trading Store as well as The Hotel King Edward, Banff. Twelve-page, tear away calendar at the bottom. Two copies of calendar.
1907 London Life Insurance Company, London, Ontario. -- Features two little girls, one dressed in a pink dress and large brimmed, white hat and pink plume and the other girl in a white dress with blue trim. Twelve month calendar scattered on vines at the bottom.
1907 (oversize) Calgary Brewing and Malting Company Limited. -- Features prairie buffalo hunt with rider aiming bow and arrow. Entitled, "Po-Nis-Chap-Pan-Ne-Ka-Pe". Artist - A.H. Hider. Notation in bottom right corner of lithograph, "Entered According to Act of the Parliament of Canada in the Year 1906, by Calgary Brewing and Malting Company Limited at the Department of Agriculture". Oversized poster style calendar. Large, twelve-month, tear away calendar attached at bottom.
1908 W. Wood Roberts, Groceries, Fruits and Provisions, Calgary, Alberta. -- Located at the corner of 12th Avenue and 1st Street SW. Features head and shoulder reproduction of young girl with brown curly hair wearing a red and white striped dress and dust bonnet. Entitled, "Daisy". Originally a twelve-month, tear away calendar, but only the months of September and October remain.
1908 William Urquhart, Dry Goods, Groceries, Boots and Shoes, Crossfield, Alberta. -- Features two men with horses on snow covered rangeland. Entitled, "The Range Riders". Twelve-page tear away calendar attached. Two copies of calendar. One copy is complete, the other is missing the month of January.
1909 John H. Williams, Accountant and Auditor, Calgary, Alberta. -- Located at 317 E 5th Avenue SE Calgary. Perpetual Calendar, "For Ascertaining Any Day of the Week or Month for Two Hundred Years - from 1801 to 2000 AD." Compiled and copyrighted in 1909.
1910 Massey-Harris Company Limited Calgary, Alberta. -- Features four postcard-sized, cardboard panels with early photographs of Calgary scenes - Bird's Eye View of Calgary, Mission Hill Bridge, Eighth Avenue Looking West and Cattle Round Up near Calgary. Small fifth panel at bottom with tear away calendar. Originally a twelve month calendar but only the month of December remains. Panels attached by brown, loose cotton thread ribbon.
1910Raphael Tuck and Sons, London, Paris, Berlin, New York and Montreal. -- Features three dogs, small flowers (forget-me-nots) and a line of poetry, "If ye want a friend that's true, I'm on your list" by Robert Burns. Small one-page, fold-out calendar.

1912John Erzinger, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Wholesale Importer of Havana Cigars and Smokers' Supplies. -- Features young woman, wearing hunting togs and carrying a rifle and rucksack. Postcard sized calendar, featuring the month of September.
1913 Rio Vista Ford, Red Deer, Alberta. -- Located at 5804 Gaetz Avenue, Red Deer. Reproduction of 1913 calendar. "Automemories of 1913". Features different car at the top of each calendar as well as description and information at the bottom. Modern Ford logo on each page. Calendar printed in 1966. Note of each calendar, "1969 dates are the same at 1913".
1914 A. Edward Fee, Hardware, Stoves, Ranges, Furnaces, Etc., Killam, Alberta. -- Features fireplace with clock and bowl of roses on mantelpiece. One china dog standing on mantelpiece and two puppies in front of fire. Cardboard with embossed figures. No calendar attached. Circa 1914-1921.
1914F. Weymouth and Son, The Quality Store, Killam, Alberta. -- Features young girl and small dog resting in hammock stretched between two blossom trees. A smaller girl is swinging the hammock while another girl is playing with two chicks. Cardboard with embossed figures and cutwork. Printed in Germany. No calendar attached. Circa 1914-1921.
1914F. Weymouth and Son, The Quality Store, Killam, Alberta. -- Features five figures in a rowboat. Woman in stern with a red parasol, two little girls, and two boys wearing sailor middies. Boys are feeding ducks and swans. Cardboard with embossed figures and cutwork. Printed in Germany. No calendar attached. Circa 1914-1921.

Innisfail, Alberta. -- Features picture of a young boy writing at a desk in a bank with his parents looking on. Entitled, "A Good Beginning". Twelve-page tear away calendar at the bottom.
1917 The Victor Shop of William Berdy. -- Located at 1198 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, New York. Features the Statue of Liberty and a passage from "The Rubaiyat". Calendar only features the month of October.
1918 Crossland and Beale, Wallpaper and Paints. -- Located at City Hall Corner, 714 Second Street SE, Calgary. Features young woman in pale green shawl holding a bouquet of Lily of the Valley. Entitled, "Love's Token". Small, twelve-page, tear away calendar at the bottom. White ribbon at top for hanging.
1918 [Postcard sized calendar with inset photograph of the Elbow River, Calgary, Alberta.] - Very small twelve-page, inset, tear away calendar at the bottom of card. Grey cord at the top for hanging. No advertisements.

1921[Handmade Christmas card with twelve page calendar on bottom of front cover] -- Features woman wearing brown hat on cover. Printed message inside. Signed "Ada".
1921 (oversize) Coca Cola. -- Features young woman in blue dress with sheer, lace trimmed overlay and matching blue hat, sitting in garden drinking from a Coca Cola glass. Bottle of Coca Cola on seat beside her. Backed with heavy cardboard. Oversized wall calendar. Originally a twelve-month, tear away calendar but only months of September through December remain.
1922 C. Riley, General Merchant, Black Diamond, Alberta. -- Features country scene with birch trees and stream. Small twelve-page tear away calendar at bottom. String at top for hanging. Six copies of calendar.
1923The Ferguson Supply Company Limited, Calgary, Alberta. -- Railway Contractors' Lumbermen's and Miners' Supplies. Located at 311 - 313 10th Avenue SW. Features country scene with old man carrying a staff and young boy carrying a harp. Calendar for March 1923, last month and next month also included.

Also noted are the ten Alberta Standard Auto Glass Limited locations, with telephone numbers. Twelve-page calendar, includes previous and next month in corners of calendar. Also noted is the fact that 1980 dates are the same as 1924.

1926 The Home of the Friendless, A Christian Institution for the Friendless and Homeless, Winnipeg, Manitoba. -- Features photographs of the Home of the Friendless, outbuildings and grounds. Bible verse and picture of Jesus and three men praying at top of cover page. Heading reads, "A Monument of Prayer". Twelve-month calendar. Features prayers and scripture on each page with calendar at bottom.
1926 (oversize) Black and Murphy, Horseshoers and General Blacksmiths. -- Located at 229-233 2nd Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta. Features bust portrait of young woman with long brown hair, backed with brown cardboard frame. Entitled, "Portia". Oversized, wall calendar with brown ribbon for hanging. Small, twelve-month, tear away calendar at bottom.
1927[Very small calendar in brown folder with embossed front]. -- Features basket of flowers on front. No advertisement.
1928 Durkee's Salad Dressing. E. R. Durkee and Company, Elmhurst, New York. -- Features someone pouring salad dressing on salad, on the front cover. Different salad recipes for each month. Calendar contained within booklet.
1928 Hudson's Bay Company, Incorporated 2nd May, 1670. -- Located at 1657 Broad Street, Regina, Saskatchewan. Slogan reads, "The Result of Fair Price and Prompt Service is Satisfied Shippers - We Want Your Raw Furs". Features two men launching a Hudson's Bay Company canoe at the edge of a lake, one holding a paddle and duffle bag. Entitled, "Far From Human Haunts". Wall calendar has been subsequently mounted on a brown suede frame. Small, twenty-four month tear away calendar attached at bottom, beginning with September 1928, ending August 1929.
1928 W. J. Hart, The Rexall Store, Stettler, Alberta. -- Features heading, "1928 is the Silver Jubilee Year of Rexall" and advertisement for Artstyle Chocolates on front page. Twelve-month calendar. Features advertisement for a different product on each of the twelve pages. January also shows phases of the moon in Central Standard Time.
1929 J. Woolf, Expert Gun Repairer, Calgary, Alberta. -- Located at 324 - 9th Avenue SE. Features two hunters on the lakeshore, one aiming a gun at a moose. Small twelve-month tear away calendar attached at bottom. Metal strip and ring at top for hanging.

Key to picture under calendar tab. Oversized wall calendar with tab at top for hanging. Large, twelve-month, tear away calendar at bottom. Each month features the merits of insurance, written by various famous people. Three branch locations noted below the tear away calendar. Information incomplete because calendar is damaged.

1930 Burns and Company Limited. -- Features Christmas scene with girl and dog on front cover and bird's eye view of the De Laval Company Creamery, Peterborough, Ontario on back cover. Six-page calendar (each page with two months). Each page includes a picture of people enjoying a dairy product on top half of page with various dairy products and text on bottom half. Calendar damaged on top right corner.

1930 (oversize) Maguire's Limited, Wholesale Furniture and Floor Covering, Calgary, Alberta. -- Features muted mountain and lake scene with deer in foreground at water's edge. Entitled, "Peace, Perfect Peace". Merchandise advertised: Gold Seal Congoleum, Dominion Linoleum, Rugs, Wilton, Axminster and Oriental Rugs, Furniture and Chesterfields, Baby Carriages, Toys. Oversized wall calendar with metal strips attached top and bottom with tab at top for hanging. Originally a twelve month, tear away calendar attached at bottom but only months of January, March, June, July August, September, October, November remain.
1931 Gardner & Smith, General Merchants, Cessford, Alberta. -- Features scene of old sailing and fishing vessels. Entitled, "Peaceful Days". Advertisements for Purity Oats and Purity Flour. Small twelve-page, tear away calendar attached at bottom.
1931 Schneider Brothers, Irvine, Alberta. -- Features framed scene of English countryside with thatched roof cottage. Thermometer inserted into frame. Calendar once attached to frame with blue ribbon, now in separate envelope.
1931 (oversize) Hudson's Bay Company, Incorporated 2nd May 1670. -- Features several decorated dog teams leaving Fort Garry in winter. Detailed depiction of lead musher in his Hudson's Bay coat, woven sash, and embroidered cap and trousers. Entitled, "Last Dog Train Leaving Fort Garry, 1909". Artist Charles Fraser Comfort. Oversized, wall calendar printed on dark blue background with Hudson's Bay Company insignias in lower corners, mounted on Bristol board and film over for protection. Metal strips attached top and bottom, with tab at top for hanging. Originally a twelve month calendar at bottom. Individual tear away months of calendar have been removed.
1932 George McLeod's Department Store for Men and Boys, Calgary, Alberta. -- Features two men, one wearing a suit and the other wearing a kilt, exchanging cigars and a glass of spirits. Entitled, "Mair Tales Frae Bonnie Scotland". Very small twelve-page tear away calendar, with comical quips, attached at bottom. String at top for hanging.
1932 The Pioneer Market, W. J. Taylor Choice Meats, Poultry, Fish, Lacombe, Alberta. -- Features a flock of sheep walking up a lane beside a house, in the moonlight. Held within a brown frame. Very small twelve-page tear away calendar attached at bottom.
1932[Handmade calendar with small original water colour painting of forested country road next to lake.] Attached is Christmas gift tag with greeting, "Eliz. With love from Eileen".

1932 (oversize) Hudson's Bay Company, Incorporated 2nd May 1670. -- Features Governor Simpson and his entourage being welcomed at the entrance to Fort St. James. Entitled, "Fort St. James, B.C. Governor George Simpson Welcomed by James Douglas, 17th September, 1828". Artist Adam Sheriff Scott. Historical sketch on back of calendar. Oversized, wall calendar printed on a cream background, framed in royal blue, with Hudson's Bay Company insignias in lower corners. Metal strips attached top and bottom, with tab at top for hanging. Originally a twelve month, tear away calendar at bottom, but only months on July through December remain.
1933 George McLeod's Department Store for Men and Boys, Calgary, Alberta. -- Features a dog with plaid bow at its neck. Entitled, "Highland Jock". Title at top reads "A Smile A Day". Very small twelve-month calendar attached at bottom.
1933 Minard's Liniment. -- Compliments of W. J. Hart, Druggist, Stettler, Alberta. Features advertisement, "The Great Internal and External Remedy for Man and Beast". Manufactured by Minard's Liniment Company Limited, Yarmouth, N.S. Branch Factory, St. John's, Newfoundland. Also features bottle of Minard's Liniment and an advertisement, "Keep Minard's Liniment in the Stable - They can't work if lame and aching". Twelve-page calendar includes moon's phases, signs of the zodiac, the planets and the constellations.
1933 Watkins - Features advertisements for several Watkins products as well as household hints and recipes on each page. Twelve-page calendar - each page includes two calendars (for the same month). The top calendar is for appointments, the bottom calendar includes previous and next months. First page is damaged at bottom.
1933 (oversize) Hudson's Bay Company, Incorporated 2nd May 1670. -- Features the "S. S. Beaver", one of the Hudson's Bay Company's most famous ships, anchored off Fort Victoria. Entitled, "S.S. Beaver off Fort Victoria 1846". Artist Adam Sheriff Scott of Montreal. Historical sketch on back of calendar. Oversized wall calendar printed on a light olive green background, framed in dark olive green, with Hudson's Bay Company insignias in lower corners. Metal strips attached top and bottom, with tab at top for hanging. Twelve-month, tear away calendar at bottom. Two copies of calendar. Both copies slightly worn but otherwise intact. One copy includes Glenbow Foundation description card clipped on back.
1934 (oversize) Hudson's Bay Company, Incorporated 2nd May 1670. -- Features Lagimodiere entering the New Years Eve festivities in the ballroom of Lord Selkirk's home. A servant is portrayed, trying to restrain the voyageur, with party guests in their finery looking on in amazement. Entitled, "The Arrival of Jean Baptiste Lagimodiere - at the house of Lord Selkirk, Montreal, with despatches from Red River, after a journey of sixty days, New Year's Eve, 1815". Artist Adam Sheriff Scott of Montreal. Historical sketch on back of calendar. Oversized, wall calendar printed on a beige background, framed in dark brown, with Hudson's Bay Company insignias in lower corners. Metal strips attached top and bottom, with tab at top for hanging. 1935 The Palace Pharmacy Limited. Stettler, Alberta. -- Features child feeding her doll. Advertisement for Nyal Honey and Horehound cough syrup and drops. Large, twelve-page calendar, each page featuring a different Nyal product.
1935 (oversize) The Alberta Steam Laundry Company Limited, Dyers and Dry Cleaners. -- Located at 720 - 2nd Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta. Telephone R 2051. Features little girl in white dress and blue shoes, holding a teddy bear, standing on a stone step in a garden. She is looking at two bluebirds in a blossom tree. Entitled, "The Bluebirds' Song of Happiness". Long, narrow, oversized, wall calendar. Image framed on green background. Metal strips attached top and bottom, with tab at top for hanging. Originally a twelve-month, tear away calendar at bottom but only months of June through December remain.
1935 (oversize) Hudson's Bay Company, Incorporated 2nd May 1670. -- Features The Hudson's Bay Company supply ship 'Nascopie' and the Government patrol ship ' N. B. McLean' lying off Wolstenholme Post at the southwest entrance to Hudson Strait 1933. Entitled, "Trading Into Hudson's Bay". Artist Adam Sherriff Scott. Historical sketch on back of calendar. Oversized, wall calendar printed on a beige background, framed in royal blue, with Hudson's Bay Company insignias in lower corners. Metal strips attached top and bottom, with tab at top for hanging. Eastern Agencies: Montreal, Roberval, Seven Islands, Halifax, Sudbury, Fort Frances. Western Agencies: Winnipeg, The Pas, Prince Albert, Edmonton, Peace River, Vancouver. Features three men in the bush, one carrying a rifle, the second carrying moose antlers, and the third carrying a large pack - all being watched by a bear. Entitled, "Anxious Moment". Oversized, wall calendar. Metal strips attached top and bottom, with tab at top for hanging. Originally a twelve-month, tear away calendar at bottom, but only months of September through December remain. Calendar water marked and damaged at bottom.
1935 (oversize) The Royal Bank of Canada. -- Features plane with skis attached taxiing on frozen Cameron Bay in front of trading post, with onlookers awaiting the arrival. Entitled, "Cameron Bay". Description notes, "Aerial transportation has brought many posts in Canada's far Northland within a few hours' journey of civilization. Typical of these is Cameron Bay, N.W.T. on Great Bear Lake, depicted above. Formerly, with the advent of winter, such points were isolated from the outside world for many months". Oversized wall calendar at top. Metal strips attached top and bottom with tab at top for hanging. Large, twelve-month tear away calendar at bottom.

1936 Alberta Corner Store, Calgary, Alberta. -- Located at the corner of 19th Avenue and 9th Street SE. Features an English country scene, with thatched roof cottage on blue cardboard background. Small twelve-page tear away calendar attached at bottom.
1936 The Alberta Ice Company Limited. Calgary Alberta. -- Features heading, "Ice Never Fails" and picture of five cats. Entitled, "Pick of the Basket". Originally a small twelve-month tear away calendar attached at the bottom, but only the months of February through December remain.
1936 Sedgewick Bakery, Sedgewick, Alberta. -- George R. Tanton, Proprietor. Features mountain scene, surrounded by an ornate silver frame. Small twelve-month tear away calendar attached at bottom. Calendar wrapped in plastic with sticker price of $25.00 from Tom Williams Rare Books.

Lyne, Manager. Features coloured world map, including legend of short wave radio stations of the world in lower right corner of map.
