Gordon Crighton photographs

Gordon Crighton's photographs, which date from 1949 to 1962, are rich in views of Peigan people and activities at Brocket in southern Alberta; and the 1951 Royal visit to Calgary by Princess Elizabeth and Prince Phiip. A brief biography of Crighton is in the Archives Main Catalogue.

How to view the photographs

You may view all the currently digitized Crighton photographs (about 175) in date order.

You may search the Crighton photographs by subjects, places, people or dates by using the Archives Photographs search screen. Always enter Crighton in the 'Photographer/Illustrator' box to limit your findings to this photographer, then refine your search by entering search terms in the other boxes on the screen. Several examples are given below:

  • Enter Crighton in the 'Photographer/Illustrator' box AND Brocket in the 'Keywords/Phrase' box to find photographs of the Peigan reserve at Brocket.
