Minutes. -- 1938-1993. -- 75 cm of textual records. -- Series consists of the official minutes of the Board of Pincher Creek School Division no. 29.  The first regular meeting of the Board was held December 16, 1938.  The minutes are complete except for the following years which have gaps: 1983, 1988, 1989; and 1987 which is altogether missing.

School District records. -- 1888-1992. -- 12.78 m of textual records. - 29 photoprints. -- Series consists of the minute books, attendance registers, cashbooks, and some correspondence and administrative papers of forty-seven individual school districts which became part of the Pincher Creek School Division no. 29.  Upon amalgamation a large number of minute books and attendance registers were not turned over to the Division's secretary-treasurer, so there are gaps in the holdings.  Included in this series are the records of several districts which became part of the Crowsnest Consolidated School District no. 78 in 1957.  Also included are the attendance registers for high school students who stayed in the dormitory in Pincher Creek. Most of the records of Fishburn School District no. 311 are held by the Pincher Creek and District Historical Society.

Secretary-treasurers’ administration files. -- 1938-1993. -- 19.63 m of textual records. -- Series consists of subject/correspondence files kept by the Division's secretary-treasurers.  They record every aspect of the activities and development of the Division.  They document the problems of recruiting qualified teachers, the gradual centralization and resulting closure of the one-room schools, the development of efficient busing, the operation of the dormitory, the selection of library books and textbooks, the introduction of new teaching methods and audio-visual teaching aids, the administration of schools on nearby Hutterite colonies and the Peigan reserve, etc.  The series is complete from 1941 to 1993.  Some records from the 1938 to 1940 period are present in the 1941 files, but most appear to be missing.  From 1941 to 1972 the files are arranged alphabetically within the calendar year.  In 1973 a functional arrangement was introduced and the following year the academic year was adopted rather than the calendar year.
