Land files. -- 1908-1939. -- 3.06 m of textual records. -- The series consists of files dealing with the sale, purchase and lease of land, primarily farm and ranch land. The files frequently contain a form authorizing the agency to sell the land, which gives details about the land, buildings, fences, water sources, asking price, etc. The files also include correspondence, the various negotiations, and final sale or lease. -- The files have been artificially listed in alphabetical order by the name of the client, usually the original land owner.

Series 3

Loans files. -- 1911-1943. -- 1.69 m of textual records. -- The series consists of correspondence re arranging loans. Many contain loan applications forms, which give detailed information about the borrower and the property being mortgaged. The Agency guaranteed the repayment of the loans it arranged, which put a great stress on it during the Depression, when farmers were unable to repay and were threatened with foreclosure. The Agency frequently dealt with the Debt Adjustment and Farmers' Creditors' Arrangement Board on behalf of clients.

The first name in the file title is the name of the borrower. The second is the name of the company or individual to whom the borrower is mortgaged.
