A First World War Blog

The voice of First World War soldier Dr. Harold McGill is brought back to life with letters written to his future wife, Emma Griffis in the "Dear Miss Griffis" blog. Excerpt from a letter dated France, Dec 30, 1917: "... I am dreaming about you every night and sometimes, often in fact, I wonder when and where I shall see you again. You are very very dear to me my sweet girl and I am looking forward longingly to the time when we can really begin living our lives together. In the meantime I must get on with my small part in the war. There is a long rough road ahead of us...Yours ever, Harold W McGill" Read more by visiting Glenbow's blog at http://missgriffis.wordpress.com |
Honouring Tradition, Curators Blog

The Glenbow Museum is working together with artist/curator Frederick McDonald to develop a new Aboriginal Art exhibit in 2008. Our goal is to consider both the traditional art forms alongside contemporary paintings and multimedia work. As a curatorial team, we are many voices: Gerry Conaty (Director of Curators), Beth Carter (Ethnology Curator), Quyen Hoang (Art Curator) and Frederick McDonald. Through this blog, we will share our thoughts and ideas as we move forward with the exhibit development. We invite you to contribute your comments. Visit us at |
