Cheers to Youth Volunteers!
As another summer begins in Calgary, volunteers here at Glenbow are gearing up for another busy season. Our new feature exhibition, The Big Gift, will be open to the public near the end of July, and our Mavericks Galleries will be busy as ever, especially during the Calgary Stampede. But our Family Programs volunteer activity will be winding down for the summer, and there is one particular volunteer who has had an exceptional year in this area, Josef Mèthot.

Josef has volunteered over 150 hours in the past year, and was honored with a Significant Treasure Award at the annual Volunteer Recognition Evening this past April.
Josef started volunteering in the Museum in July 2007. Over the course of the year, Josef has taken part in activities such as Discovery Room, Family Fun Weekends, Membership Openings and the Blackfoot Gallery drop-in program.
Josef is a pleasure to work with. He arrives eager and ready to take part in the Discovery Room and Family Fun activities. The Glenbow staff and visitors are charmed by his personality; he is inviting, gentle, and patient. Josef is eager to learn new things and is always ready to share his knowledge and experiences. Josef brings many ideas and perspectives to activities being offered. He encourages visitors to have a fun and memorable experience.
Josef has been a regular Glenbow home-school student from quite a young age, we are very pleased he chose to volunteer and grow with us. He is an outstanding volunteer. We are very fortunate to have him here at the Museum.
Thank you Josef for all that you do for us. Your volunteering helps make the Glenbow’s Family Programs enjoyable and successful.
We look forward to seeing Josef, and all the Family Programs volunteers, again come fall. Have a great summer! As always, your dedication is our inspiration.
