M-1896 Petition for incorporation of Calgary. -- April 1884. -- 3 pages. -- Consists of the original draft of a petition from the citizens of Calgary to Lieutenant Governor Edgar Dewdney, requesting incorporation of the town of Calgary. Includes the reply from Dewdney. The petition was signed by 285 owners or occupants of sections 14, 15 and 16, township 24, range 1, west of the 5th meridian. There is a photographic reproduction (negative) at NE-6-1.
