Limited tickets are available

Due to overwhelming demand, we’ve added more hours and there are now tickets available throughout the week. Admission is free during All Access Week, thanks to our friends at Servus Credit Union.

Visitors are required to reserve timed tickets before arrival to maintain safe physical distancing in the museum.

Stay tuned to #GlenbowFromHome and our Social Media channels – we’ll be sharing some of our favourite objects and artworks from the third and fourth floor galleries throughout the week.

What’s Closing?

Glenbow’s third and fourth floor exhibition galleries are closing on November 22, 2020 including:

Mavericks: An Incorrigible History of Alberta
Niitsitapiisini: Our Way of Life – This gallery will remain accessible to the Blackfoot community for scheduled visits
The New Sun Gallery of Indigenous Art and Culture
Warriors: A Global Journey Through Five Centuries
Where Symbols Meet: A Celebration of West African Achievement
Treasures of the Mineral World
Metamorphosis: Contemporary Canadian Portraits
Enclosing Some Snapshots: The Photography of Métis Activist James Brady

What’s Staying Open?

Glenbow’s first floor lobby and second floor exhibition spaces will remain open to the public with new exhibitions scheduled throughout 2021.

The artworks and objects from the galleries that are closing will be accessible in new ways. Once the building is fully renovated and reimagined, we’ll have new exhibition, research and education spaces where we will be able to share more of the collection, more often.

So many Calgarians have grown up with these exhibitions at Glenbow, and we’re thrilled to be part of inviting the city in to say farewell to their favourites. Glenbow is a source of education, entertainment and inspiration in our city, and we want to help make it accessible to everyone
