Closure & Reopening

Glenbow is currently closed for renovations as we transform the museum through Glenbow Reimagined, our campaign to deliver a revitalized museum with you — our community — at its core.

We look forward to welcoming you back in Glenbow’s renovated home, the JR Shaw Centre for Arts & Culture!

Glenbow at The Edison is Now Closed

Glenbow’s temporary satellite gallery, Glenbow at The Edison, is now closed as our team focuses on developing over 50 new spaces in Glenbow’s reimagined home, the JR Shaw Centre for Arts & Culture. Thank you to the more than 67,500 people who visited 10 wonderful exhibitions in this special gallery.

How to Visit Collections, Belongings, and Research Requests

Glenbow has paused collections visits, outgoing loans, and new acquisitions. This temporary moratorium allows our staff to focus on re-occupancy and reopening. Collections visits will remain paused until Glenbow reopens to the public.

Exemptions may be considered case-by-case, particularly to connect Indigenous communities with their cultural belongings or archival materials. If your community has belongings or archival material stewarded by Glenbow that you would like to visit or request information about, please contact us at indigenousstudies@glenbow.org. Please allow for 4 to 8 weeks for a response.
