Public Art and Social Practice: Artist talk by Tania Bruguera

Tania Bruguera is one of the best known contemporary artists of her generation. Born 1968 in Cuba, Bruguera has long operated at the intersection of art and life, exploring the role that the artist and art can play in today's society and in the realm of politics. For almost three decades Bruguera's work has focused on key socio-political issues, such as the defence of freedom of expression and human rights. This talk is part of the Public Art and Social Practice Workshop series jointly offered by The City of Calgary and the Illingworth Kerr Gallery.
