Closure & Reopening
Glenbow is currently closed for renovations as we transform the museum through Glenbow Reimagined, our campaign to deliver a revitalized museum with you — our community — at its core.
Glenbow will reopen in its renovated home, the JR Shaw Centre for Arts & Culture, in 2026. We look forward to welcoming you back!
Glenbow at The Edison is Now Closed
Glenbow’s temporary satellite gallery, Glenbow at The Edison, is now closed as our team focuses on developing over 50 new spaces in Glenbow’s reimagined home, the JR Shaw Centre for Arts & Culture. Thank you to the more than 64,000 people who visited 10 wonderful exhibitions in this special gallery.
Glenbow at The Edison was made possible with generous support from Mobsquad and Aspen Properties. Thank you to the Calgary Downtown Association and Calgary Foundation for supporting free admission for all visitors.
How to Visit Belongings
If your community has belongings stewarded by Glenbow that you would like to visit, please contact us at collections@glenbow.org.
Please note Glenbow is currently under construction as we transform the museum through the Glenbow Reimagined project. Because of this, access to collections involves passing through an active construction environment.
When visiting, all visitors to Glenbow are required to wear PPE, including a hard hat, vest, and steel-toed boots. These items will be provided to visitors upon their pre-arranged arrival. Additionally, visitors must wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, and socks, and are required to complete a waiver. For safety reasons, we are not able to accommodate the use of walkers, wheelchairs, and canes at this time.
We will do our best to fulfill all requests to visit, but at times it may not be possible due to changing conditions.
