Sew City: A Community Project for Mending and Making
Saturday and Sunday, MAY 23 + 24, 2009

In conjunction with our exhibition Celebrating Quilts, Glenbow partners with the City of Calgary's initiative This is My City to organize a two-day textile extravaganza! Throughout the month of May, Glenbow will be collecting materials for our community event. Drop off colourful scraps of fabric, buttons, ribbon, yarn, embroidery floss, fabric paints, lace, etc. to the museum lobby in advance.

This is My City involves a 12-month cycle of interdisciplinary art making activities by and for the homeless citizens of Calgary. The project is designed to provide the homeless opportunities to express their experiences through art-making.
