Summer programs at Glenbow are the perfect way to have fun and learn about art and culture. Join our knowledgeable and enthusiastic museum educators as we explore Glenbow's galleries and artifacts. Get creative with our hands-on activities and put on your explorer's caps!

Perfect for summer camps, birthday parties, home schoolers and groups of eager young learners. Ask about our lunch room for first come, first serve complimentary booking.

View the incredible art from our historical collection to discover how artists explored our nation and shared their adventures with the world. Following an in-gallery writing activity, explorers will move into our art studio and add colourful illustrations to their words.

Imagine yourself as a 19th century immigrant to Canada and rummage through the suitcases of people who came to Alberta to find out how and why peoples of varied ancestry made Alberta their home and discover these 'newcomers' experiences in Glenbow's Mavericks gallery.

Join us on a hands-on exploration of rocks and minerals. Specific areas of focus include streak, lustre, texture, hardness and crystal shapes as well as current and historical uses of minerals. Finish your analysis with a treasure hunt in our Minerals gallery!

Knights of Glenbow

Do you have what it takes to become a medieval knight? Travel back in time and experience this exciting era in our Warriors gallery. Hear the stories, learn sword fighting moves, try on armour and see if you have what it takes to become a Knight of the Glenbow.

The Blackfoot People Welcome You

Experience the rich cultural traditions of the Blackfoot people and view the world from a different perspective. Explore our First Nations galleries and through storytelling, artifact handling, games and activities, discover how the Blackfoot have lived harmoniously with the Earth and all its beings for thousands of years.

Artifact Explorers

Join a Museum Educator as you discover treasures from Glenbow Museum's collection of artifacts from around the world. Through sketching and journaling, explore the galleries and create your own interpretation of the collection.

* Book this program together with any other summer program and the $60 program fee is waived.
