Stories

As passionate supporters of arts and education, it has always been important to Dave Werklund and Susan Norman-Werklund to demonstrate their community leadership whenever they can. Their recent gift to support Glenbow Reimagined is just one way they are sharing their belief in the future of arts in our city.

“We are thrilled to see the vision for the newly revised Glenbow come to fruition,” they say. “Being part of the new and exciting exhibitions that will be part of Calgary’s vibrant arts and culture scene is so important to us.”

In recognition of their significant gift to Glenbow Reimagined, the second-floor feature gallery in the renovated building will be named the Werklund Exhibition Gallery. The 11,000 square foot gallery will showcase travelling exhibitions that explore historical and contemporary art, fashion, design and innovation from around the world.

Their gift supports the ongoing transformation of Glenbow into a people-centered place that celebrates Calgary’s vibrancy.

“We know a revitalized Glenbow will have significant benefits for Calgary’s downtown as well,” Dave and Susan say.

We are both deeply passionate about providing education to future generations. New exhibits will allow Calgarians the opportunity to learn about new and exciting things when we bring the world’s greatest exhibitions to our city.
