Land’s End Ensemble is thrilled to present four new works composed by students of the University of Calgary’s composition program. Throughout the season, Land’s End Ensemble collaborates with select student composers during the creation of their work, culminating in this premiere performance.

As part of this year’s program, and in collaboration with Glenbow, a special performance of A Sybil Andrews Portrait will also be featured. These three works are composed by Juno Award-winning composers Jocelyn Morlock, Alexina Louie and Allan Gordon Bell. All three pieces are inspired by works by Sybil Andrews from Glenbow’s collection.

To introduce the program, a special pre-concert chat will introduce the artwork and speak to the connection with music, featuring: 

• Dr. Jocelyn Anderson, Director, JR Shaw Institute for Art in Canada, Glenbow
• Allan Gordon Bell, Music Professor, University of Calgary; composer
