Today is International Beer day and it felt only right to take you on a behind-the-scenes tour focusing on some of the objects in the Glenbow collection that are related to beer.

You will learn about the history of the Calgary Brewing & Malting Co. which was founded by A.E. Cross in 1892. Also included are a beer keg that dates to 1908 from Fernie-Fort Steele Brewing Company, a horn beaker that dates to 1700, an ale jug with the most perfect beaver-topped silver lid made by Robert Hendery, one of Canada’s most important 19th century silversmiths, among many other items.
