This week we are exploring all things PLAY

In today’s video, Calista, Glenbow’s Indigenous Studies Collections Technician, takes us behind the scenes to learn about traditional toys and games from First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities across Canada.

2020 has been stressful and we’re feeling like one antidote for stress is play. It’s not just for kids! Playing builds our imagination and creativity, it makes us smarter, but best of all, it’s FUN. We’re taking a look in our collection to find a selection of toys, art and ideas that make us think more about why we play and how play has changed over time.

This video is part of our #GlenbowFromHome series. It’s our way of continuing to provide a regular infusion of art and culture into your daily lives. We know art can provide inspiration, beauty and, most importantly, a sense of connection to the people and world around us. We’re bringing Glenbow right to you in your home — through virtual tours, online collections, educational videos, activity ideas, webinars and more.
