CHARLIE RUSSELL AND THE FIRST CALGARY STAMPEDE

Consulting curator and renowned western art specialist Brian Dippie will discuss the
feature exhibition Charlie Russell and the First Calgary Stampede. Learn about how Glenbow located 17 of the 20 original pieces and how the exhibition today differs from the original exhibition in 1912.

CONTEMPORARY WESTERN ART
THURSDAY, JUNE 21

The West exhibition presents contemporary art that addresses the mythology and
iconography of the West. Explore contemporary ideas of western identity with Art Technician Travis Lutley as he guides you through this profusion of artwork from
Glenbow's Collection.

Art on the MallJoin us for another fun-filled collaborative art project! Find our museum educators on Stephen Avenue Mall on Tuesdays and Thursdays over the summer and participate in creating a western-inspired work of art in celebration of the 100th Calgary Stampede. Every Albertan has a little cowboy in them!

Join us after the Stampede Parade on Friday July 6 for a special Art On The Mall.
